UN’s millennium development goals are mentioned in the framework of FIADASEC’s institutional objectives and are considered as part of the overall objective stated in the Statute giving birth to the institution. Therefore, the UN’s millennium development goals are included below, as part of the priority guidelines to be reached by 2016:
UN’s Millennium Development Objectives:
1. Eradicating poverty and hunger, by reducing the proportion of people living in extreme poverty to half the 1990 level by 2015.
2. Achieving universal primary education no later than 2015.
3. Promoting gender equality and empowering women, by eliminating gender gaps in primary and secondary education.
4. Reducing child mortality by two thirds.
5. Improving maternal health, by reducing the maternal mortality ratio by three quarters.
6. Combating HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.
7. Ensuring environmental sustainability.
8. Developing global partnership.
